We are writing the year 2016. Co-founder Max Hofmann has experienced the time-consuming work of manually optimizing bids for advertising campaigns firsthand. Since 2015, he has been active as an Amazon retailer with seven-figure sales and has been responsible for advertising in his company. There should be a way to automate the constantly repeating tasks at Amazon advertising with one tool... – no way! There was no provider in the world who had taken up this challenge. While the Sponsored Product Ads could be booked via mail since 2012, the API for automatic data retrieval was still in a beta phase. Acting tool providers focused on the analysis of the campaigns or made suggestions for optimization - but none of the available tools implemented changes automatically. The idea for BidX was born and was put into practice by three fellow students - at that time still studying industrial engineering or business informatics at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Together with Nadine Schöpper and Dominik Thüsing, Max Hofmann developed the world's first software for automated PPC management on Amazon. Right from the start, medium-sized and larger merchants showed great interest in the first beta version - a VBA in Excel, which in the next version has developed into a web application with manual upload and download of bulk files and today for the fully automatic exchange of data between the software and Amazon. One year after the launch, the founders hired the first staff and continued to develop the software. Initially still exclusively rule-based, the tool became a self-learning system in mid-2018 that recognizes which adjustments need to be made to make PPC campaigns more successful.
Today, the tool sets standards for optimization and offers outstanding user-friendliness as well as continuous further development of the algorithms. With the Managed Service, the customer's wish for more in-depth advice on the advertising strategy is fulfilled.
